The Importance of The Windshield

Auto Glass Guru encourages consumers to remember that their windshield provides 50% of the power of their vehicle rollover. Too many consumers saw the damage to the windshield as irrelevant to the function of their vehicles; only cosmetic issues that can be pushed to the backburner. In fact the power of this vehicle rollover was depleted by a broken windshield.


U.S. Department of Transportation Federal Highway Administration data released on the number of rollovers occur per year and the figures show that rollovers are increasing problems. Total rollovers reflected in the statistics are:

* In the year 2000: a fatal 9873 rollover crash
* In 2001: 10,157 fatal rollover accident
* In 2002: 10,666 fatal rollover accident

Please note that these data reflect only a rollover accident that resulted in casualties, no injuries.
