BMW announced today the production version of the all-ActiveHybrid BMW 7, which will premiere at the Frankfurt Auto Show (IAA) in September. BMW ActiveHybrid 7 will reach the U.S. coast in Spring, 2010. Based on the latest BMW 7 Series, this unique car set a new standard for performance and efficiency in the premium luxury class.

This symbiosis twin-turbo upgrade, High Precision Direct Injection V8 engine with a 3-phase synchronous elec ¬ Tric ActiveHybrid BMW 7 provides a combination of motor outputs 455 hp and maximum torque of 516 pounds-ft (initial numbers). Power is transmitted via an 8-speed automatic transmission with an electric motor positioned between the engine and torque converter.
