Peugeot announces the release of a second variation of the hybrid crossover 3008 to 2012. A rechargeable version that will have an electric range.Fifteen months before the release of the hybrid version of 3008, Peugeot has already announced an evolution whose batteries are a rechargeable power supply. At a press conference, Jean-Marc Gales, chief of the Peugeot and Citroën, said the 3008 plug-in will always possess a diesel engine, but smaller (without specifying which one) with batteries larger. An all-electric mode is also available and its CO2 emissions should be around 50g per kilometer for an average consumption of 2 liters per 100 km. The output of this model is 2012.

The rest of the range, the manufacturer Sochaux remains cautious and is waiting to see the reception to its first hybrid model. If the hybrid smiled in 3008, the 5008 could in turn receive the HYmotion4 technology but it would be detrimental to the third row of seats to clear the space for the rear electric motor.
Peugeot is also considering a hybrid gasoline on the basis of its next three-cylinder engine.
