2012 Volvo Hybrid Plug-in Car

The full autonomy of a Volvo hybrid will be about 1 200 kilometers, roughly that of a conventional diesel car. It will run about 50 miles pure electric mode, while not rejecting any exhaust gases or particles. If the battery is recharged by an electrical power from renewable sources, the net emissions of CO2 will be near zero, even if one considers the entire lifecycle of the car. Volvo dealers also offer their customers hybrids plug-in, a specific contract for the supply of renewable energy. This agreement is the result of a collaboration with a partner, the Swedish power supplier Vattenfall.
