As anticipated a few days ago, the Jaguar X-Type will have a legacy, which we show the first reconstructions. The new X-Type will be developed on the platform in aluminum rear wheel drive and most likely will be identified dall’inedita XD symbol. Initially, the car was not in Tata plans, but to Carl-Peter Forster considers it essential to the new D-segment car that Jaguar consolidate its presence in the premium market.
The new Jaguar X-Type will compete directly with BMW 3 Series and have a line that will tie in with the current XF and XJ, and the RD6 concept shown at Frankfurt in 2003, and full of sharp curves and surfaces. Moreover, the new generation of small Jaguar will also be available with AWD, as the new platform will be developed for the creation of four-wheel drive versions.

Tata will invest over £ 1 billion in the development of new aluminum platform that will be exploited for future Land Rover models and new generations of Jaguar XF, XJ and XK. Regarding the engines, the new X-Type – waiting on the market in 2012 – will be equipped with a supercharged four-cylinder unit both gasoline and diesel, while the flagship will be the hybrid version, scheduled for 2015 and equipped with 3.0 D V6 engine mated to a 48 hp electric engine and ZF 8-speed automatic transmission.
