Citroen will present the DS9 in 2012, a luxury limousine concept derived from the Metropolis, as top of the range of the Chinese market. According to Automotive News, the future of the model is now certain, thanks to the joint venture with Changan Automobile. The car will use the basic mechanics of the Citroen C6, modified in accordance with the specifications necessary. There are no confirmations about the gasoline-electric hybrid engine on the proposed concept.
The Chinese market has been very interested in luxury sedans and European manufacturers were not long in prayer, as evidenced by the revival of the Volkswagen Phaeton at the show in Beijing and the creation of dedicated models like BMW 5 Series and Audi A6L LWB. Hardly, however, see the DS9 in Europe, where instead will focus on the launch of Citroen DS4, DS5 and DS2.
