Volvo has signed an agreement with the electricity company of his city, Gothenburg, to begin road testing of the first examples of the new C30 Electric. This experimental phase will involve a total of ten copies of the compact Swedish. The agreement with Göteborg Energi will occur in the autumn: Volvo will provide the cars and power company will make its contribution to preparing the necessary recharging infrastructure. This is obviously only a first step: the fleet in 2011, will expand to reach 50 units.
Once ready for marketing in the coming years, the C30 supply (with lithium ion batteries) will be able to offer the same features of safety, comfort and roominess of a traditional power models.
