
Peugeot has released the first official pictures of the 308 GTi, sports chassis available from next summer. The hatchback of the Lion is made sportier by some aesthetic touches such as faux carbon fiber front lip, rear spoiler and dual chrome exhaust tailpipe. The French designers have also created a specific color extractor Black Pearl and placed here and there many GTi logos, in addition to the 18-inch alloy wheels (with 225/40) that hide a boosted braking system, consisting of over-sized discs – 340mm front, 290mm at the rear. Inside, however, the most sizzling among the 308 is recognizable by the presence of aluminum trim on the steering wheel (leather), pedals and shift knob.
The Peugeot 308 GTi is powered by the 1.6 THP 200 hp and 275Nm of torque, already used by the RCZ coupe because of the remarkable smoothness of operation, maximum torque is available from 1,700 to 4,500 rpm. Merit of the twin-scroll turbocharging, combined with the variable valve lift system (VTI), which ensures optimum performance fast acceleration (7.7 seconds in the 0-100 km / h, 27.8 seconds over 1,000 meters) to a combined average fuel consumption of just 6.9 liters per one hundred kilometers. The presence of six-speed manual transmission also allows you to shoot from 80 to 120 km / h in 6.7 seconds when using the fifth gear.
