Saab 9-5 2.8T XWD Aero

Saab is back with a version of its 9-5 which was so successful in the past. Although the Swedish company has spent some dark moments, primarily economic, now try to shake off a bit ‘of rust, even with injection of liquidity in China. To maintain a high level of quality, the (former) home of the Swedish car has entered into several joint venture agreements, even with a company like Vauxhall, with whom he built the car. But it would be unfair not to define the Saab 9-5 as the car is not Scandinavian, as the technique is the best traditions of northern Europe.

The Saab 9-5 2.8T Aero XWD is an unusual car, similar to those of other German brands such as the Audi A6 or the BMW 7 Series. But the things that impress not only belong to the body, sport and pleasant, as the engine that is mounted under the hood: a 2.8 cc V6 turbocharged turbine with variable valve timing. The exhaust system has been optimized for high performance and six-speed gearbox. The Saab 9-5 Aero 8.2 T XWD reaches 120 km / h in less than 7 seconds despite a not insignificant burden. This derives from the power of the engine, which now exceeds 200 hp, well tamed by a Skyhook suspension system with active damping, which makes the car docile and easily manageable.

The strut front suspension HiPer works so well that the driver is isolated from the rough ground. In addition to this model, top of range, Saab has in mind to launch a more affordable car, with two-liter twin-turbo engine, which should be around € 35,000.00. Same architecture but without the four driving wheels.
