The production version of Hyundai Veloster will be officially unveiled at the Detroit Motor Show, scheduled for January 2011. This was confirmed by the same South Korean House, during a press conference in the U.S. subsidiary with U.S. journalists. The compact coupe the Hyundai Coupe will replace the European market and will compete directly with the Volkswagen Scirocco. As for the stylistic aspect, the heads of Hyundai have confirmed that the car will share 70-80% of components with the Veloster concept.
The main new feature is the presence on the right side of the rear door opening against the wind, as also reflected in the latest spy photos. In addition, Hyundai will be equipped with the 1.6 engine Veloster aspirated direct-injection 140 HP, matched well with the new dual-clutch sequential gearbox 6-speed. Most likely, the new compact coupe Hyundai Tiburon will adopt the name, a name already used in the U.S. market as it prepares to become the most important for the model in question.
