KTM presented to the Tokyo Motor Show two new models of motorcycles zero emission, they are two totally electric models called Freeride and offered in two versions, and cross supermotard / enduro. These models have an electric motor with a maximum output of 30 hp at 6000 rpm and maximum torque of 43 Nm at just 500 rpm. This engine is powered by lithium polymer batteries can provide a range of 90 minutes to recharge these batteries require about an hour and a half, unless you decide to replace them with other batteries are already charged.

From the point of view of the chassis, the chassis is mixed with a double-cradle tubular steel fixed plate forged aluminum, the front suspension is an inverted fork stems, to a rear shock absorber with no linkage. The wheels however vary depending on the version: in motard are both 17 “in cross / enduro the front 21″ rear and 19 “. The weight should be about 90 kg including batteries, which makes the models almost similar to normal Freeride Motocross of the house of Austria.

According to rumors, these models may also submit the KERS system that the Austrian company has designed and tested on his 125cc bike. KTM Freeride presumably will be available starting in the spring of 2011 at a price that should be about 10000 euro ex-dealer.

The already wide range of Austrian house is enhanced by these jewels that will move on two wheels with a degree of autonomy and respect the environment, which should remove any other arguments to those who are planning to restrict the activities of off-road FIM.
