Mercedes has announced the upcoming launch of the E 250 CDI 4Matic. This is a “before” very significant, because the current range of new E-Class, four-wheel drive has been offered so far only in combination with V6 or V8. To celebrate its redesign, including the C-Class 250 CDI 4Matic will (and will, finally, the 7G-Tronic): As the older sister, the average four-wheel drive Mercedes will separate from their exclusive link with the six-cylinder.
The house hopes to meet the demands of customers in certain markets, like Switzerland or the USA, where wheel-drive models are highly valued, and where so far the combination of the four-cylinder and four-wheel drive was limited to only GLK 220 CDI.
The E 250 CDI 4MATIC with its new 2.1 from 204 hp and 500 Nm, will debut next year at a price not yet determined, but probably a little over € 50,000. Today, the E 350 CDI 4Matic (the only diesel E-Class all-wheel drive) from a list of 58,560 euro. Both the E 250 CDI 4Matic, the C 250 CDI 4Matic will be offered in both sedan and station wagon variants.
