Future Infiniti sports could fit AMG engines, thanks to recent agreements between the Renault Nissan group and Daimler that. If the primary reason the agreement was the joint development of new compact vehicles, such as the Smart ForFour, the agreement also led to share technologies and mechanical architecture. So here it is the hypothesis, confirmed by Autocar, Infiniti, according to which, determined to give life to the Infiniti Performance Line, is considering the possibility to exploit, for example, the future twin-turbo 3.5-liter V6 that soon AMG will make available, as well as the V8 in naturally aspirated or turbocharged.

The Infiniti Line Performance proposes, for the moment, specific versions of IPL IPL G G Coupe and Cabriolet, characterized by technical changes and aerodynamic, but Inifiniti plans to create similar versions for all models in the catalog, creating a sub-brand like Mercedes has done with AMG. The partnership with Daimler, long ago, had given rise to rumors about the adoption of German engines (even diesel) on the next generation 370Z: At this point the abandonment of the 3.7-liter naturally aspirated V6 could be less “painful” to replace it if it were a V6 even more brilliant, perhaps signed AMG.
