Mazda CX-5

Here are the first spy photos of the Mazda CX-5 compact crossover that the Japanese could launch as early as 2011. Younger sister of the CX-7 and CX-9 is not imported into Europe, the CX-5 would fit well in the crowded segment where many manufacturers are already offering models, often characterized by lack of all-wheel drive versions. Based on the Mazda3 platform of the future, the CX-5 will propose solutions SkyActiv studied by the Japanese to contain fuel consumption and emissions: power units and G Sky Sky D of new generation, automatic transmission with low friction, new construction techniques to reduce weight.

The prototype, camouflaged with panels of the CX-7, was lower and narrower than the latter, but it is early to draw conclusions.
