Alfa Romeo 166

According to “Auto, Motor und Sport, Alfa Romeo is working on the legacy of 166, of which we show a new reconstruction graphics. The new sedan segment and should be built on the Alfa rear wheel drive LX platform of the new Chrysler 300C and Dodge Charger. Just with the latter, the new flagship Alpha should share most of the components, but it will not come with a re-badged as the heir to happen instead of the Lancia Thesis, which will result from the new 300C.

In fact, the car should have the body 4-door coupe-shaped, while the length should exceed 5 meters. Apart from being the alternative to the usual German sedans for the Italian bourgeoisie, the heir of Alfa 166 would be the ideal competitor of the Jaguar XF. Also according to the German monthly magazine, the Alfa Romeo sedan should be equipped with the new V8 engine 3.0 TB MultiAir twin turbo over 400 hp, especially for the U.S. market. If these rumors should be confirmed, the successor to the Alfa Romeo 166 will be produced at Mirafiori and adopt the historic name Alfetta.
