Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland

Jeep Launches in Italy the new Grand Cherokee, with prices starting at € 52,200. The debut will be available only fitting Overland, the richest of the range, with V6 and V8 petrol. Only in 2011 will add the new VM 3 liters V6 225 hp, probably the most interesting for our market. The Pentastar 3.6 V6 delivers 286 hp and 347 Nm, while the 352 hp V8 5.7 share touches and 520 Nm of torque. All engines are combined with 5-speed automatic transmission and ensure brilliant performance: the V6 touches 100 km / h acceleration in 9.1 seconds and reaches 206 km / h (with an average consumption of 11.4 l/100 km and 265 g / km CO2), while the states respectively, V8 8.7 seconds, 225 km / h, 14.1 l/100 km and 327 g / km.

The new Grand Cherokee, more than 7 cm long and 6.8 cm wider than its predecessor, has made great strides in terms of exterior and interior design with superior materials and more space for passengers, thanks to step longer than 13 cm. The boot capacity increases, with values between 782 and 1554 liters according to the position of the rear seats. The new four wheel drive system is different depending on the engine: the V6 uses the Quadra-Trac II with Selec-Terrain and 5 modes of operation, while the V8 is mated to the Quadra-Drive II system with pneumatic suspension, Quadra-Lift.

The Overland offers a standard active bi-xenon headlights, sunroof, power tailgate, Hill Start Assist, Hill Descent Control, traction control and stability for the trailer stability control and seven airbags. The Grand Cherokee Overland V6 will be offered at a price of 52,200 Euro, which will rise to 63,800 Euro for the V8, with very few options: metallic or pearlescent paint at 850 Euros and the Safety Pack, consisting of active cruise control and sensors for the blind spot mirrors brought to 1800 Euro. The Grand Cherokee, remember, is the center of attention for the statements of Sergio Marchionne, who confirmed the birth of a Maserati SUV on this platform.
