Aston Martin will build with Daimler Maybach ?

Aston Martin could produce a new Maybach in partnership with Daimler. The news of advanced negotiations between the two brands will come from Germany, while the Financial Times argues that the English manufacturer would get in return from the German engine technology. Daimler has already commissioned the first model of an Aston Martin Maybach limousine, a car that could be made already at the IAA 2011. This car could give new life to the German luxury brand.

By partnering with the British, the Germans could achieve saving a lot of car production. The Aston Martin will get the technology from Daimler-wheel drive vehicle off road as he plans to produce a car based on the Mercedes GL, using know-how also taken by Daimler diesel and gasoline engines.

A Daimler spokesman denied the rumors talking to Reuters: “There is no agreement with Aston Martin. We are often in discussions regarding various topics, such as the transfer of technology for the show-car Lagonda. The Aston Martin Lagonda exhibited at the Geneva Motor Show in 2009 had several components derived from the Mercedes GL.

The German company added that in no hurry to make a decision on the new Maybach, while representatives of the English manufacturer chose not to make statements about these rumors.
