The manufacturer has decided to add a new engine smaller range, namely a 1.6 petrol 160 bhp and 240 Nm of torque.The new engine, which is part of the EcoBoost, Ford of Europe has developed and is manufactured in Great Britain. The new EcoBoost 1.6 is built entirely of aluminum, combines direct injection with turbocharger inierzia low and variable valve timing.
As stated by Ford, with the new engine, combined with the manual six-speed transmission, the Mondeo should be consumption of 6.8 liters per 100 km, the S-Max 7 l/100 km and the Galaxy 7, 2 l/100 km.
The new Ford do not end here. Also on Mondeo, S-Max and Galaxy, in 2011 will reach the start & stop the 1.6 EcoBoost 160 bhp but also the new 1.6 TDCi engine from 115 hp and the 2.2 TDCi 200 bhp. The start & stop will also be available in the 1.6 TDCi 115 bhp.
